Materials

As with most hobbies, you will need to invest a certain amount of time, effort and money in order to get started. Material costs for the visual arts can vary greatly depending on your medium of choice. I've created a list of the basic materials and equipment you'll need to work in the following media:

Painting

For painters, the most expensive one-off investment is the painting easel, which varies in price and quality and the Bob Ross Master Kit .

   Ongoing expenses include:

  • Canvas
  • Paints
  • Paper Towels
  • Pencil and paper
  • Bob Ross or Tupernoid Odorless Thinner and leakproof container with brush screen
  • (unless otherwise noted below you will always need these items for my class)

ONLY Tupernoid or Bob Ross Brand Thinners allowed in classroom -- keep your thinner clean!
